DF'ed and Confused...

so i think the title pretty much says it all.

i have a tendancy to be long winded about things, so i'll just give a general introduction and maybe tell things as i go along.

i don't even really know what i want from this site (ironically i remember jehovahs-witness.net mentioned from the platform as a site not to go to).

Before you walk out the door and cause your mother to cut you dead, ask her this simple question - "Mom, are Jehovah's laws and principles so flexible and open to interpretation that we can communicate with each other and have a normal family life if I continue to live here, but if I move into an apartment next door, you will be obligated by the Organization to cut me dead? Can you show me the Scriptural reasoning for this?".

Those who teach this falsehood, and those who apply it, are anti-Christ, whether they know it or not!

I really feel heart sorry for all who are afflicted by this demon-inspired, hate-filled dogma which contradicts Christ's own command - John 13:35.

Best wishes for your life-choices. It won't be easy either way, but choosing the one which gives you a clean conscience and respect in the eyes of those who REALLY matter - that is ultimately the best way!

look...i am not an atheist.

even so, i have never had one prayer answered my entire life.

the only thing that would even come close was learning ttatt.

I thank God every day for my life, (despite the problems which come with it) the ability to get food and clean drinking water, and that I have somewhere safe to live.

However, I am not so conceited to believe that these things are DIVINELY provided for me each day, because so many members of my human family across the earth do not have even these BASIC needs for life.

Why should God favour wonderful little me over them?

I cringe when I hear a fellow Witness attribute the acquisition of a house or job (or even 100 chickens!) to our Creator answering their prayer! It portrays God not only as partial, but also evil, because he didn't answer the prayers of those in the tsunami, the twin towers, or every other major disaster or man-made atrocity!

Why does God allow suffering? The answer is found by examining why he allowed his own son to suffer and die!

Just be thankful for what you have, and bear in mind and heart those poor souls who don't!

What exactly did Jesus say when he meant Eternal Life?

1) when jesus said come follow me and you will get eternal life, what did that mean?

It's worth noting that Jesus never promised ANYONE immortality! He never used the word. He always referred to 'eternal life' or 'everlasting life', but never immortal life!

Only certain ones were gifted and qualified to be evangelizers. In Paul's writings, there is no mention of preaching being a requirement to become an appointed man in the congregation!

(Ephesians 4:8) Wherefore he says: "When he ascended on high he carried away captives; he gave gifts [in] men." Lit., "to the men."

(1 Corinthians 13:8) But whether there are [gifts of] prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease.......

(1 Corinthians 12:29-30) Not all are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Not all are teachers, are they? Not all perform powerful works, do they? Not all have gifts of healings, do they? Not all speak in tongues, do they? Not all are translators, are they?

(Ephesians 4:11) And he gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelizers, some as shepherds and teachers......

The gifts to men ceased. The men weren't the gifts, it was the abilities which were gifts!

Just a personal viewpoint:

1 Peter 4:17 warns that the judgement starts first with the house of God.

Revelation calls Babylon the Great "the MOTHER of the harlots" - indicating that there others, but she is the worst of all!

I postulate that BTG is Christendom - every single religion which claims to represent the Christ.

JW's are simply part of that conglomerate and have acted detestably towards sincere people, in the same ways the rest of Christendom has treated their flocks!

They are not unique enough to merit the position of the feet in Daniel's vision of the statue. They are just another money-making business, in the guise of a religion!

I personally know a brother who was claiming Disability & Unemployment benefits due to his "condition", but was employed by the RBC to help build Kingdom Halls!!

The Govt. decided he no no longer qualified for Disability Allowance, and that he was fit to return to work!

I can't feel sorry for his loss of income.

their view of apostates seems to be out of the realm of the ordinary, the natural.

its as if the words of apostates are supernatual or spiritistic as if apostates are some kind of jedi knights who can slightly wave their hands or twitch their eyes and bring one under a spell.

@ EMETH - As I am a Witness in good standing in my cong, let me ask you one question before you go: If we have God's spirit-directed Faithful & Discreet Slave in Brooklyn, then why did God wait over 100 years to reveal that the 'Evil Slave' was hypothetical - to one of apostate Christendom's scholars - which he then published in the NET BIBLE online, and only then did our FDS plagiarise this "new light"?

A bit of a second-hand "truth", is it not?
